Buying questions, answered

Are ceramic core electric radiators expensive to run?

Any electric heater turns 1 kWh of electricity into 1 kWh of heat, so the running cost is set by the output you choose and the hours it runs at full power. The ceramic core keeps radiating after the thermostat switches the element off, so the element runs for fewer hours than the radiator is on. Use the running-cost calculator above with your own unit rate.

Can I fit it myself?

The 1000W and 1500W come with a fitted UK plug and a wall bracket: fix the bracket, hang the radiator, plug in. The 2000W has no plug and must be hardwired to a fused spur by a qualified electrician.

Does it work with Alexa and Google?

Yes. Pair the radiator with the free Tuya Smart app, then link the app to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Apple HomeKit is not supported.

How quickly will it arrive?

In-stock radiators ordered before 2pm Monday to Friday are sent by DHL Express for free next-working-day delivery to UK mainland addresses. Pre-orders for the 2026 model are delivered by 12 December, in the order they were placed.

What if it is not right for my room?

You have 30 days to return it. Every radiator also carries a 2-year warranty covering parts and electronics.

Ceramic core, WiFi and smart electric radiators from Rio Heating

Rio Heating sells one electric radiator, the Rio Eco Plus, in three outputs. Each is a ceramic core electric radiator: a dense ceramic block stores heat from the element and releases it steadily, so the room temperature holds between heating cycles. Each is a WiFi electric radiator too, controlled from the free Tuya Smart app with weekly schedules, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Choose 1000W for rooms up to 10 m², 1500W up to 15 m², or 2000W up to 22 m². Prices include VAT and free next-day delivery to mainland UK.
